Useful Web sites:

SavingforCollege.com
Site is devoted exclusively to Section 529 college savings plans. Here you'll find articles explaining what they are and how best to use them. The site is notable for a database that lists the key features of all state plans and includes a 1 to 5 "cap" (as in mortarboard) rating system.

Morningstar.com Fund news, commentary, graphs, and "Quicktake Fund Reports" that are more complete than their name would suggest. The news, commentary, and analysis are surprisingly good considering this site is still free.

Financial Planning Association The FPA is an international organization of 30,000 financial planners, attorneys, CPAs and others who champion the financial planning process. They provide continuing education and best practice learning opportunities for their membership as well as providing pro-bono disaster relief financial planning services and education to the general public. This site contains several educational links.

Certified Financial Planners Board of Standards The CFP Board of Standards was founded in 1985 as a nonprofit professional regulatory organization, Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. (CFP Board) exists to benefit the public by fostering professional standards in personal financial planning. The CFP Board creates and enforces uniform standards of competence, practice and ethics of financial planners through rigorous, validated and professionally administered education, examination, experience and ethics requirements. The above link lands on a page that contains an array of consumer information about financial planning and the financial planning process.
